Over the past decade, we have moved with the tide of destiny from one place to another. Starting with our first recording, Ya Cha Ban, in 2010, we have made the environment where we live a part of our improvisational recordings for mind fiber. The title represents how we maintain an open-ended outlook on recording itself. We strive to retain as much of the original color of any sound happening in the environment as possible, and life, for that matter. At the core, it is improvisation with everything in life.

No. 237, Taolin Village, Xingshou Town, Changping District, Beijing, is a small farmhouse we rented in 2021. The courtyard sits on the outskirts of northern Beijing, near mountains, reservoirs, and orchards. After a simple remodeling, our family stayed in this small courtyard of nearly 400 square meters. In the yard there is a cherry tree, a persimmon tree, a mulberry tree, and a toon tree that keeps growing new trunks. Our favorite, of course, is the cherry tree. It produces pink or white flowers in spring and dark purple cherries in early summer. We sometimes have barbecues in early winter under the tree, which can cause it to bloom miraculously early. We hung solar-colored lights on the tree that light up every day. It is like a holiday celebration each day. We also installed bird feeders on the tree, making it a paradise for birds even when there is no fruit. Some of the birdseed landed on the ground under the cherry tree, and inexplicable plants grew, such as millet, various grains, and other weeds.

In just a few years, countless memories were made under this tree. Beautiful images of the children spending their fourth, fifth, and sixth birthdays there, Li Jianhong's mother holding her hands full of cherries and smiling at her son while he climbed to the top of the tree. I also recall my mother gazing at the full moon hanging over the cherry tree after a snowy day on my father's birthday four years after his death. And lastly, the beloved cats, Amanda and Xiao Zhi, who used to walk under the shade of the flowers with their heads held high but have since left us.

Time flies, and it has already been another three years since then. Airplanes pass over the yard, dead leaves fall from the cherry tree, the neighbor's dog cries and barks, and children throw stones at the iron gate. Sound is a trace of life and a part of memory.

That is why keeping sounds in ones memory is important.

It is the life we share.

这十几年来，我们随着命运的潮水迁徙，从一个地方搬到另一个地方。从2010年的首个记录《丫杈坂》开始，在每个生活过的地方，我们都以mind fiber为名，留下一张环境即兴录音。这次也是一样。以环境即兴的方式，保持开放式的录音，保留环境里（生活中）发生的任何声音的本色，与生活中的一切即兴。

北京市昌平区兴寿镇桃林村237号，是我们在2021年租下的农家小院，坐落于北京的北部郊区，附近有山、水库和果园。经过简单的改造，我们一家在这个近400平方米的小院住了下来。院子里有一棵樱桃树、一颗柿子树、一棵桑树和不断长出新树干的香椿树。我们当然最喜欢樱桃树——春天它会开出粉色或白色的花，初夏时会结出深紫色的樱桃。有时候初冬的烧烤，我们也在树下进行，这会让它过早得开出奇迹般的花朵。我们在树上悬挂了太阳能彩灯，它每天都会亮起，每天都像在庆祝节日。我们也在树上挂了喂鸟器，在没有果子的时候，小鸟们依然把它当成乐园。鸟食落在樱桃树下的地上，又长出莫名其妙的植物：小米、谷子，甚至杂草。

在这棵树下，短短几年间，我们留下了许多回忆：孩子们在树下度过他们的四岁、五岁和六岁生日；老李的妈妈捧着满手樱桃，笑望着她站在树顶的儿子；我的妈妈在爸爸冥寿那天凝视着雪后的樱桃树上悬着的满月；还有在花荫下曾经昂首挺胸走过却已经离开我们的爱猫Amanda和小志……

时间过得真快，我们又在一个新的地方生活了三年。飞机从院子上空划过，枯叶从樱桃树上掉落，邻居的狗在哭叫，孩子们将石子扔在铁门上……声音是生活的痕迹，也是记忆的一部分。

所以才要用声音来记住。

这是我们共同度过的人生。
